The portrait is fairly gestural and stylized. The quick fluid strokes give the portrait a messy and earthy quality, leading the viewer to think maybe that tells us the artist messy, go with the flow kind of a person. The stylized large eyes give her a look of wonder, leading us to believe she is perhaps a curious person. The portrait looks a bit like the artist, but maybe a light sketch laid down onto the paper first would have helped make it look even more like her. The ink work could still be done in the quick and airy style while doing this. There could be more values to give the face more form though. Overall the portrait gives an interesting look into the artist.
